Help to create open accessible spaces, community facilities and housing that responds to local needs.
This includes the possibility of making a significant area of currently private land, publicly accessible for all to enjoy and delivering a range of benefits that encourage health and wellbeing including play areas, allotments and new pedestrian and cycle routes through the village and a country park.
Additionally, the proposals also include land reserved for either a new primary school with a nursery or a village green with a pavilion and a multipurpose sports centre which features a brand new fitness suite and outdoor Multi Use Games Area.
Show your support
Demonstrating support will help to enable the development to come forward and in turn strengthen the possibility of enabling new formal and informal spaces to come forward in Lower Stondon, as well as provide more options for existing residents to upsize, down size or perhaps create an opportunity for those looking to get on the property ladder to stay in an area they call home.
What’s being planned?
A community sports centre including fitness suite, plus an external Multi Use Games Area. A facility that aims to provide a place to stay fit, have fun and get together with friends and family.
Land reserved for a new Primary School to serve Stondon or for a village green at the heart of new neighbourhood helping to create a sense of place for community events and sporting activities.
Extensive parkland including children’s play equipment suitable for all ages and abilities.
The opening of currently private land, maximising opportunity to access open green space to improve wellbeing.
New pedestrian links to increase accessibility and connectivity between different parts of the village currently separated by the golf course.
Additional allotments plots and an orchard.
Up to 400 high-quality new homes of which 30% will consist of affordable housing options.
Our vision
Since acquiring the site in 2022, our vision has always centred around our ambition to deliver to the Stondon community and its surrounding villages a set of proposals which put nature and green space at the heart of the development with over 60% of the landholding retained and dedicated towards landscape improvements, public open space, play and improved habitat creation.
About Bloor Homes
Bloor Homes is a family-owned business that was established in 1969 when John Bloor founded the company and built its first home. Every possible detail was taken into consideration to create a beautiful home. The same is still true today. More than fifty years later, it is one of the largest privately owned house-building groups in the UK.
Bloor Homes gives as much careful consideration to its locations and the surrounding environment of its sites as it does to the new community it ultimately creates. Its ethos is to make every effort to conserve the natural balance of each location, including heritage conservation, the conservation of wildlife, and the preservation of natural features.
